A photographic journey through the Republic of Yemen, a country located on the Arabian Peninsula. Presented here are a small selection of photographs from a larger collection that were displayed in a special exhibition in London attended by the Ambassador of Yemen.
The old walled city of Shibam is nicknamed Manhattan of the Desert, because of its skyscrapers. Surrounded by a fortified wall, the 16th Century City is one of the oldest examples of urban planning based on the principle of vertical construction.
